Re: Moving from Zotero back to Bookends
If I can modify the RIS export translator to export the citekey will Bookends be able to pick it up? Is there a specific tag it will need?

Re: Moving from Zotero back to Bookends
Thanks. And yeah I appreciate that Bookends has the ability to generate citekeys, but I have over 5000 references and I'm a bit worried about key changes. I'll check more on the Zotero forums. Thanks again.

Re: Moving from Zotero back to Bookends
Unfortunately I don't see any citekey info included in the RIS file. Here's a sample entry: TY - JOUR TI - You Me and the World AU - Eilan, Naomi T2 - Analysis DA - 2016/// PY - 2016 VL - 76 IS - 3 SP - 311 EP - 324 ER - Here's the original bib file: @article{eilan2016, timestamp = {2016-10-14T18:44...

Moving from Zotero back to Bookends
I'm trying to transition back to Bookends from a few years with Zotero. I need bibtex support so I use better bibtex with zotero. But I'm facing the following problem. I can export from Zotero in a variety of formats that retain attachment paths when imported to Bookends, but lose the citekey info. ...

Re: renaming attachments without spaces
thanks. that's unfortunate, as it will break a bunch of links to course material that I teach. I guess you can consider this a feature request (it's easy to do in other ref managers like Zotero (which I'm currently using), Jabref, and BibDesk). Thanks for your quick response.

renaming attachments without spaces
I know that one can rename attachments using a specified, and possibly custom, format. I would like to have all attachments renamed using bibtex citekey, and underscore, and then the (short) title, all lowercase, with spaces replaced with underscores, like so: "dunn2016_iconicity_and_the_format...

Re: Google Scholar citations
I've downloaded and installed 12.7.6 and haven't seen any changes in the (in)completeness of Google Scholar citations. Sente is still managing to import full info, including full author name, page range, and journal volume and issue number whereas none of this is coming through with Bookends. I unde...

Re: AppleScript query path to attachment
Right. Finally got it working. For whatever reason, I had to make sure that the output returns without a newline. For posterity I had to do the following (my bash is pretty bad, sorry): UUID="{query}" REFNAME=$(/usr/bin/osascript << EOT tell application "Bookends" return «event T...

Re: AppleScript query path to attachment
Hi Jon,
"m" isn't a field that I can get using "return «event ToySRFLD»" and the Bookends #id in applescript. Is there a different event value I'd use? Or is this just for format editing and not applescript? Thanks.

AppleScript query path to attachment
I was wondering if there is a way to query Bookends concerning the path or location of an attachment for a reference given a UUID number? Maybe something along the lines of return «event ToySRFLD» "$UUID" given string:"?" If I put "attachment" in the string value I get ...

Google Scholar citations
I know people have posted about using Google Scholar for import before. But I was wondering whether I'm doing something wrong. When I import form Google scholar I don't get the author's full first name, the volume and issue number of the journal the article appears in, or the page numbers of the art...
