Close Bookends.
Open Bookends: it should open with the last (desired) library.
That's what works here at least.

Re: Lost Library
It may be a silly question, but are you sure you are in the right library file and have not inadvertently created a new library? I am sure technical support can give you better advice. One way would be to look at the filename and original file location for what you believe your real library to be ca...

No idea, nor an immediate need, but if the developer could find a way that could be useful, even for me going forward,

I could see some occasional usage, whereby presently I cut and paste via textpad instead as an intermediary.

Re: Finding references not assigned to a group
Such an issue doesn't affect me yet, but it could/should... so if a "make smart group of anything not in a smart group" type of function or view could be welcome, if possible.

Re: Bookends NodeJS API client released (experimental)
Thanks. I will keep reading with interest and hope it inspires people to make nice interfaces for useful features to supplement this already wonderful package.cboulanger wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 8:45 am Bookends has an AppleScript application programming interface (API) to "remote-control" the application.

Re: Bookends NodeJS API client released (experimental)
I guess this might be a "if you need to ask, it is not for you"-type of question, but what does this API client do/deliver and how might ordinary people deploy it?
I looked at the project website, but it didn't give elucidation!

New issue with auto-complete?
Today it seems auto-completing is not working (or I've had a funny batch of seven or so papers). They import but don't autocomplete, yet when you manually enter the title etc and search from Google and import it works. Find DOIs is similarly not finding them. Do I have a local error, a run of bad lu...

OK thanks. Glad the "problem" isn't of my making and that it is easily resolved.

APA6th, newspaper
Is there an error with the bundled format? According to my format manager using default settings a newspaper uses the format a (d|~, ~c`)`. t. j,$ p. ^ pp. $p-`.` $Retrieved from $z but I see no "c" as a format (as an aside, in the format manager could you make the format "hover over&...

Re: Handling of the "https://" part of URLs
Not had the delight of needing to use MLA so far (transitioned through my university's bastardisation of something, followed by Harvard and now APA6) but it does seem that many are less enamoured with the latest version of MLA. Just one reference caught my eye recently (older article) https://www.ch...

I'd take a look but am not free until the weekend. Flagging it up in case you don't get any speedier offers.

Re: Any plans to support built-in PDF syncing?
Ah, ok. Now I think about it after more coffee my own PDFs are synched there. It is the other preference ("custom folders") that isn't supporting iCloud and I mixed the two up! I think my "unhappiness" with iCloud not acting more like Dropbox insofar as being able to upload and u...

Re: "Scan document" Add-in for Word not working
I've heard about Alfred in the past.
Does the provided script mean that if you have Alfred installed, the script would automatically run and know what to do, e.g. is it "install and forget"?
Does this script need the optional PowerPack?
Maybe I need time to play with it...

Re: Any plans to support built-in PDF syncing?
Is there a technical restriction why PDFs cannot sync (as an option) with iCloud? I'm sure you would have offered it if it was possible, so I am just wondering why? It does appear, as a layperson, that iCloud is not as functional as Apple give the impression of in its shiny presentations. Dropping D...
