Re: Update install fails

yep, this is the problem I have too.

have you perhaps upgraded to 10.5.6? Apple, not sonnysoft, seem to me the most likely culprit in these cases...

Update to 10.4.1: error

Hi

I get an error when trying to update to 10.4.1. The updater reports an error ('an error occurred') does not complete the operation (even though it places the old bookends file in the trash).

I've just updated to osx 10.5.6.

Any ideas?

thanks

strange behaviour - crash

I write here and not to support, because there maybe something obvious I am missing/doing wrong. I've got the latest version, and also 10.5.3 on a Macbook, late 07 version. I use BE with Mellel, current version. Everything was working fine until this afternoon, when BE started to crash (quit automat...

One thing I like with bookends, it's this sort of interaction between creators and users :D

Thanks Jon!

:D Yes, that was my point, that the minimal is not optimal for viewing the word processor and bookends on a macbook.

Resize bookends window

I wondered why resizing the width of the bookends window is not allowed. I like to have mellel and bookends open side by side (so i can insert references by dragging), but I find that when I work on my macbook I have to resize mellel to the point that it is difficult to read what I'm writing - just ...

This is a fantastic upgrade. Being able to read the attached files this way makes my life a lot easier, and its also great that I'm able to make notes while I'm reading the file. As regards the keywords debate. If the choice is either notes or keywords, I'd rather have the keywords in the separate t...

Jon: thanks. I can confirm that this works fine when you select it with the author-date citations in APA 5th edition. The citation options of the original style do not apply when you select a custom citation style. AND the citation options of the custom style do not apply as well, since the custom s...

APA citations

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but I don't seem to be able to find something on the forum. I can't get Mellel+Bookends to produce year-only citations for repeated authors. I am using APA 5th edition, which formats citations using 'APA citations'. I have ticked 'use year-only for repeate...

It would be handy if it could. I use both mellel+bookends and latex for different things I'm writing, so I need to have my library in a .bib file that works straight away. But I guess it's tricky to implement this, and not very important for all bookends users.

But thanks for the answer.

Bibtex export

Hi, I wondered if there is a way to protect capitalisation in titles when exporting to bibtex?

Ooops, I hurried to ask the question - I found this after I played around a little. But you had already posted an answer.

Sorry for wasting your time.

export references as bibtex?

Is there currently a way to export a selection of entries from my library as a bibtex file?

Are there any plans to add this option to the `export references (hits)' menu? That would be really handy!

thanks,

Hi Jon,

thanks, I figured out how it works for rtf.

Still, are there any future plans to add specific support for Neooffice, eg an add-in as for MSWord?
