Bookends on Tap Lite disappeared?
The link from the website page doesn't seem to be working. Has Bookends on Tap Lite been discontinued or is it just a temporary glitch?

Re: Right to Left problem
Sorry. I can't help – I know nothing about RTL text. But what about asking on the Mellel forums? There are a lot of people there who use RTL, and some who use Bookends.

Re: Window position not stored locally?
that won't work if you use one machine with two monitors (which many do) Ah, I hadn't thought of this. Not easy to fix, then. The real problem here is not with Bookends, but with the OS. It shouldn't be necessary to resize all the windows in all the apps that I use (e.g. Bookends, Scrivener, Word o...

Re: Window position not stored locally?
Couldn't it store locally the last local window state of each database, so that it opens it looking the same way that it did the last time it was opened on that Mac? That seems as though it would be more elegant and convenient, but I may well be overlooking some reason why it's not desirable, and of...

Re: Window position not stored locally?
I have the same problem, for what it's worth. It's not a huge problem, but it's a bit inelegant to have to resize everything each time I move from laptop to desktop.

Re: Garbled formatting of the references
Looks like you accidentally turned on BibTeX formatting. I would look in Preferences>BibTeX and see if 'Enable BibTeX' is ticked. If so, untick it.

Open attached keyboard shortcut when focus is in edit pane
With the newish edit pane integrated with list view (which is wonderful, by the way, I find it a real improvement), when the focus is is in a field of the edit pane, the Open Attached keyboard shortcut doesn't work. Could it be allowed? I can't see that there is any danger of ambiguity in what refer...

Re: References not correctly sorted by date by same author
Just a thought: could there be a trailing space on some occurrences (but not others) of the author's name?

Suggestion - Sort 'forthcoming' after numerical dates
Just a suggestion for something that would be useful to me at least and probably others. Would it be possible to make it so that in bibliographies sorted by author-date, references with 'dates' of 'forthcoming', 'in press' and the like sort after the numerical ones? What I get at present is: Smith (...

Re: Library of Congress - Books imported as journal articles
I'm not sure if this is related, but I'm seeing books imported as journal articles from Cambridge University too. (Importing using the search dialogue in Bookends.) For example, the following came through as a journal article: MARC Record LDR 00866cam 22002534a 4500 001 5086206 005 20110221145740.0 ...

Re: Author initials sometimes missing from ref?
There was a non-technical question in your post, though, too: Also, is it a problem to have heterogeneous reference entries; some with names, some with naked initials, others with punctuated initials (e.g., "Perry S." "PS", "P.S.")? Answer: yes, it can be, because it ca...

That is useful to know. But what does 'properly set up' amount to, in this case?

Re: Include series title if (and only if) vol. number exists
Many thanks, Ozean. That works nicely. There's a complication, though, because the format that I am trying to modify has some other stuff that goes inside the same set of brackets. Here's the APA 5th edition format for Edited Book: e $(Ed++.)$. (d). t. `(`u2~ ed.~ $Vol. $v`)`. l: u`.` The part I'm i...

Include series title if (and only if) vol. number exists
I'm trying to tweak the APA 6th ed formats for book chapter and edited book to deal with those weird edited books that are halfway between books and journals. What I want (for edited book) is something like this: French, P. A. & Wettstein, H. K. (Eds.). (2001). Figurative Language. ( Midwest Stu...
