I would also find it useful to be able to alter the logical operator from AND to OR.
In addition, it would be helpful to be able to specify ranges of dates (rather than precise matches).

iOS feature request(s)
#1 I'm new to Bookends (a Sente refugee), but am rapidly wishing I had moved across earlier! The iOS app is great - and the annotation tools are superb. What I am really missing is an ability for the iOS app to either: 1. Remember recently viewed refs/PDFs (this would also be great to add to the Des...

Re: Dropbox Sync (migrating from Sente)
Thanks Serge. Since I've moved over to iCloud sync, I won't follow up on the Wifi sync issue - unless you explicitly need me to? Regarding the iCloud sync. I was making a few mistakes, the primary one being that I hadn't enabled iCloud Drive on my Mac (As a DropBox user, I have never used it for any...

Re: Dropbox Sync (migrating from Sente)
I have cloud sync up and running between two Macs now - using iCloud for the library, and Dropbox for the attachments. After a small hiccup that Jon helped me sort out (required a "Force Sync" ), the two machines seem to be nicely in sync. The next job is getting an iPad synchronising. At ...

Re: PDF pane display is limiting
OK - thanks Jon. I'll defer to your judgment on notes, but I also think that placing vertical PDFs in a horizontal window below the reference list is a les than optimal UI. My work screen is 1.8x as wide as it is tall. Although...I am now considering turning the second screen 90 degrees specifically...

Re: Buttons for sorting in single column view?
I've been able to modify the font/size for the multicolumn view, but not for the single column view.
If this is possible, please can you point out where to do this? Thanks!

Re: Dropbox Sync (migrating from Sente)
Thanks Jon. I've got this sorted now (I think), and just purchased a licence. There are at least two fellow academics in my Centre that also currently use Sente. I'll suggest they look at Bookends too. I was a bit confused in the user guide, because I interpreted it to mean that I could use Dropbox ...

Dropbox Sync (migrating from Sente)
Dear Jon, I have scoured the forums and also read the manual, but I am still confused about setting up a synchronisation. I use DropBox Pro for all my file syncing purposes, but I am aware that this may not be ideal for databases. With Sente, I used their custom server sync solution (now dead). For ...

Re: Buttons for sorting in single column view?
Just a suggested work-around: I am just exploring Bookends and I find the multicolumn view of the reference list much more powerful (and useful). I always used to turn off single column view in Sente too. I also use classic multi column view in Mail for the same reasons. it seems to me that single c...

Re: PDF pane display is limiting
Thanks for your response Jon. #2 is the most important for me! Since I'm just exploring Bookends, I'm not yet familiar with notes and the notestream. I assume it is one of the possible options for the panel on the right? If so, is there a reason that notes can't be typed in the window below the refe...

Re: PDF pane display is limiting
Dear Jon, I agree with freney. I think a full-height PDF view on the right is preferable to one below the reference list. However, I do recognise that the attachment view on the right provided by Bookends provides most of this functionality (great!), and this is the layout that I am currently testin...

Re: Full screen on secondary screen seems broken
I am testing Bookends - coming from Sente - and I see the same (greyed out window panes) behaviour as in the screen shots above only on a second screen when I invoke fullscreen (Mac mini, 10.11.6). I am working around it by "Option-clicking" the green button so that the window maximises, b...

Re: Interesting temp solutions until there is BE for iPad
Dear Jon, is there any progress on an iPad reader for the Bookends database? Unfortunately, I am close to moving across to Sente (I've tried the desktop trial, and have managed to export my refs/pdfs from Bookends to Sente reasonably well). The Sente iPad app is OK, if a bit slow. But it is much bet...
