Re: URL scheme?
Apologies for jumping in here - but with Scrivener for iOS being imminent, will BEoT be able to 'speak' with Scriv iOS? In other words, assuming the latter is actually a viable alternative to writing on iOS, could BEoT be used for the insertion of citations whilst writing on iOS? Would this be somet...

Re: Help with "Find in Library"
... Jon Sonny Software Jon – in the hopes that you are still around – is there a shortcut key that takes the focus back to the main window? In other words >> Cmd+Alt+F to jump into the Live Search; type/paste entry >> is there a keyboard combo to then move the focus to the references that are the d...

Re: Help with "Find in Library"
A) The popup populates with fields for your default reference Type (usually Journal Article). Book Title = Volume in this case. B) You must do a Text -> Characters search (which you indicate you did below). The search you have specified works for me (one you have told Bookends to search Volume). Bo...

Help with "Find in Library"
Hello all, I'm struggling with some basic aspects of the Search/Find functionality, and hoping someone can advise – I must be missing something obvious. Three scenarios in particular: A.) I want to search ONLY for a character [ – ] that might appear in the Book Title field of the Book Chapter refere...

Another vote for this possible feature – would be really useful, if done.

Re: Separate editing window
If you're using a separate editing window, a double click (instead of a single click) on the reference will do what you want. That is, don't close the standalone reference window, keep it open and double click on (or select and press Return or Enter) any reference you want displayed there. Jon Sonn...

Re: Separate editing window
Jon – I really like the new pop-up window, especially on a dual-monitor set-up, it's a big help. Not sure if this is something that might be (a.) possible; (b.) a feature other's would welcome; and (c.) in line with the underlying approach to the standalone window — but could it be possible to have ...

Re: Feature request: Split common settings for short and long citation?
Not entirely sure what is meant by one field each(?) for Primary and Secondary citation?
If this could be clarified, maybe through some examples, I would feel more comfortable adding my 2 cents?

Re: Need some simple assistance – how to cite complete works?
I suspect you're going to have to bypass the normal scanning method to get the full ref output again if your format calls for using the secondary order for subsequent refs. However, you don't necessarily have to "write out" the full ref yourself. If this is going to be a common occurrence...

Need some simple assistance – how to cite complete works?
Hello all, Simple question – but one where I'm struggling on deciding whether to use BE, or simply doing it manually. My citation method requires the reference to be produced in full, the 1st time it is quoted [Author_Full Title_Year_Page Num], and to be shortened [Author_Short Title_Page num] every...

Re: Re Excluding references from the bibliography
I thinking about this a bit more, the behavior makes perfect sense. A reference can only occur once in a bibliography. So if it's excluded for any citation, it will be excluded from the bibliography. Thus, it is behaving properly. If you're trying to exclude the citation from appearing in a footnot...

Re: Re Excluding references from the bibliography
It should only work on the particular citation I think (but I confess I haven't used it for a long time). Do you find differently? Jon Sonny Software Jon - I just tried it out, by creating a test page in Scrivener, and it doesn't work as hoped. I created FN1, with "{First.article} citing from ...

Re Excluding references from the bibliography
Hello all, Would appreciate quick clarification on my understanding of the {$citation} feature. If I use it to exclude a specific reference from the bibliography in a given footnote >> i.e. {Peter.article} says the following "blah blah blah" [citing {$Jones.book}] >> if, at a later point, ...
