Undo or not undo, that is the question
I'm having some trouble undoing editing changes in the fields of the reference editor: the author field, for example. I haven't experimented to identify clearly the scope of the phenomenon, but several times when the highlight has not been where I thought it was (not sure why!), I've deleted some cr...

Re: Transformation different in right-click menu
I just found this thread, and I want to express my appreciation for the time and labor it is going to save me!

Re: A 10.5.2 bug?
Okay, that makes sense. However, the Inspector looks (to my untrained eye) just like the (new) reference editor window, which *does* respond to crtl-W. I have to break my fingers' habits!

A 10.5.2 bug?
Closing the Inspector window with ctrl-W closes both that window and the main library window. Closing the inspector by clicking the red 'traffic light' functions normally.

Re: Opening PDFs
Oh, dragging the icon is a pretty quick solution. I didn't think of that! All I have to do is open Acrobat first. In fact, it seems to work even though I am using the PDF annotation view!

Opening PDFs
The current options for opening a PDF from Bookends are these: Default, Preview, Skim, Adobe Reader, PFM Pen. My default is Preview, and I am fine with that. But I would like to have a quick option to open a PDF in Acrobat Pro to perform OCR. At the same time, I don't have Skim or PFM Pen. Is there ...

Re: Workflow question
Jon, I'm exploring the ways of getting notes *out* of Bookends. I can drag them into Scrivener, or Scapple, or ... What are my other options?

Yes, I'm too busy to read warning messages! : (
Perhaps 'replace' instead of 'into' in the new version?

Re: Workflow question
Oh dear! I just 'Put' 'niche' 'into' the field Keywords for selected references, and it replaced all the existing keywords! Perhaps 'Put' is not quite the right word here? Or perhaps it is 'into' that is misleading?

Re: Workflow question
Good points, Jon! I'd forgotten about linking. I'm now exploring the tag clouds, and indeed they are a tool for bringing to light references that I had lost sight of. I've also realized I can drag and drop into Scapple, which is the kind of free-form mind-mapping I prefer. A question: Is there a way...

Workflow question
I am in the middle of a project that involves a large number of references, and I'm looking for a better kind of organization. So far, I've been taking notes in Scrivener, and writing the text in Scrivener too. Problem is that means the notes are organized (relatively) linearly, and contained within...

Re: Google scholar searches not working
I have been having the same problem.
I think, though, that the original poster was referring to the message (or lack of message) provided by the Bookends software when this happens. Not to the way Jon responds to users' questions. I have found him very prompt and helpful.
