Very odd--I was having this problem and the problem that right clicking on a collection and choosing "Delete…" would try to delete the first reference in that collection.
Deleting the app (which was the latest version) and downloading 13.1.5 again solved both problems.
Thanks Jon

Inspector window offscreen
Hi
I just moved from a computer with a larger display to one with a smaller display. When I opened the Inspector window, it was offscreen. (I could see the window with "App Exposé" but couldn't figure out how to get it onscreen.) I finally was able to get to the window by changing the resolution in ...

Re: cmd-Y, cmd-K and floating citations in Mojave
No, as I said, my word processor is Scrivener, and everything worked as you intended in High Sierra. That said, this failure to paste is at worst an inconvenience, and in my opinion, not a problem at all.

cmd-Y, cmd-K and floating citations in Mojave
I have Scrivener set up as my word processor in Bookends.
There are two issues under Mojave that people might want to know about.
First, when you try to copy a reference to your word processor from Bookends, you will need to allow Bookends to control System Events.app in the System Preferences ...

Unset font and font size but not italics?
Hi
I might be an edge user, but I want to clear font and font size, but not the other styles (italic, bold, superscript, subscript, etc.)
I have put all scientific names in my database in italics, but somehow font + font size also crept into these fields. I have already gone through my database ...

Final period in citation depends only on final field
Hi
I suspect I just didn't read some of the manual in enough detail, but...
The built-in Harvard format for journals fails to print a final period if there are no pages listed. The format code is "a (d) t. f , v, p-." If there are no pages in the reference, the final "." (bound to the "p") fails ...

Re: Generate Key Terms list?
I think if you want to export a term list for a group of references you could
a) export those references and open them as a new database in Bookends (manual, p. 309)
b) export the terms (manual, p. 381)
Not something you would want to do every day, but easy enough as a "one off."

Re: Main panel cut off at top
So, this is going on too long, I know.
But just now the 2nd panel "Additional Fields" was cut off at top (about the top 2 mm). There was no scroll bar, and nothing I could do would make the top field label display itself. I finally fixed it by making the window small enough for the scroll bar on ...

Re: Main panel cut off at top
Ok. I figured out why the scrolling is intermittent and unpredictable.
If you put the cursor in the right hand gutter (if the right hand panel is taller than the screen, and if the right hand gutter is showing), then scrolling is smooth and predictable just as you say.
However, if you put the ...

Re: Main panel cut off at top
So, I just played around with this.
It turns out that I usually have the window sized to fully fit an iMac 5K screen, in which case the text fields are smaller (in vertical extent) than the height of the window, so it shouldn't scroll. I don't know if the window was fully extended when I saw this ...

Re: Main panel cut off at top
Something seems to be broken, I can only attach one image to the post, so here is the view after I have scrolled to another reference and back to the original (the correct view):
