Autocomplete
I just downloaded 12.5.7, and I'm seeing something odd in the autocompletion of the Journal field: the part of the text that was auto-completed is greyed. (See attached image.) This doesn't seem to occur in the other fields that support auto-completion.

Re: Copy Note And Citation renders only Plain Text
Jon, before posting I copied into Word, to test just what you're describing. I've just now pasted into TextEdit. In neither case do the italics show up.

Re: Copy Note And Citation renders only Plain Text
Gadzooks, your right! I was assimilating what I read to my own experience. I'm simply using Make Bookends Notecard from Selection. Here's one example: be tied to the implications of casual sex for teenage well-being. Implications of Casual Sex Adolescent casual sex is important to study because of t...

Re: Copy Note And Citation renders only Plain Text
Jon, for what it's worth, I too have been concerned that when copying a quotation into a notecard, formatting such as italics is lost. Since my goal is to use the quotation in a manuscript, I need to be sure the formatting is correct.

Re: Integration with Highlights
Yes, I use scroll to zoom too. The only disadvantage is a loss of resolution when zoomed in, whereas when a pdf is increased in size the text is redrawn with a larger font at the same resolution (so far as I can tell).
But that's an issue between me and Apple! Bookends still rocks.

Re: Integration with Highlights
Yes, I've communicated my concerns about Highlights directly to the author. So Bookends can create comments, notes, and tags in a pdf, and in addition Notecards as notes and Notecards as quotations. It can also create Notecards from highlighted text in the pdf; these will be locked. Highlights can c...

Re: Integration with Highlights
Jon, I'm using the trial version of Highlights, and feeling a bit lost. When I save the marked up pdf and return to Bookends, nothing is visible in either the Notes field or the Note Stream window, until I select Show Highlighted PDF Text as Notecards. At that point, the selections I've made in the ...

Integration with Highlights
Jon, could you tell us more about how version 12.5.6 integrates with the Highlights app? We can now open a PDF in Highlights, but can we then export the text that Highlights extracts and organizes back into Bookends? On the Highlights webpage, it's stated that Papers is currently the only reference ...

Re: Navigating notes
Jon, on my MacBook Air the return key does not open a note. (Neither does return plus a modifier.) And within a note, the return key adds a carriage return (not surprisingly!)
Might not Bookends calculate the article page number when the page range has been provided?

Navigating notes
I've been exploring new possibilities for my workflow, making notes in Bookends before composing in Scrivener. I find myself now looking for an easy way to navigate from one note to the next. In the summary view, the text of a long note is truncated. To view that text, I need to double click on the ...
