Currently BOT doesn't autofill metadata on attachments import, but this feature is planned.

We’re following this up with the developer of the PDF engine we use. Could you please tell us what apps have the behavior you want?

This bug will be fixed in the next update, but unfortunately, BOT library should be deleted (Settings -> Empty Library) and then re-downloaded from the cloud.

We are currently working on an update that will add WiFi sync functionality also.

Andreas, please go to the "Bookends" folder in iCloud Drive for iOS. Do you see all your attachments there? Are all of them in the root folder (without subfolders)? Sync button in BOT syncs references only. All attachments are synced by iOS, so if you have a big library it should take some...

Both apps can be used at the same time (but it will take x2 space to hold your attachments).
If you don’t need to sync some selected groups only or some Bookends smart groups it’s better to start using the new version (it syncs ALL your local groups and folders except Bookends smart via cloud).

With the new cloud sync all files will be placed outside of the app sandbox folder, and I think this folder will not be backed up by the system.

But currently we can’t provide such a customization for the PDF Engine component.

We hope to have greatly improved PDF engine with better Apple Pencil support and the Split Screen mode at the latest by the release of iOS 10 (usually Sept-Oct).
