Re: Bookends 14.1.7: Citekeys
It is important not to use accent marks or symbols in the citekey due to the nature of LaTeX and Biber. As an alternative, you could create a field that will help you classify or organize your references with non-roman characters. For example, in the reference below I have two fields (SBLHS and FMT)...

Re: Problems with macros in Bookends 14.2.7
I’m using two keyboard maestro macros without a problem. These macros I built to generate a bib file for LaTeX from a selected static folder.

Re: No Journal Glossary update for BibTex files
If you edit an entry in the journal glossary but not in the reference itself, Bookends may see them as matching anymore. The glossary can be used when entering journal names manually (an abbreviation defined by you is expanded to the short or full journal name). But it's main use is for formatting....

Re: No Journal Glossary update for BibTex files
How are you using the glossary to be able to make these changes exactly? I probably don't understand exactly the ins and outs, but i thought the glossary files only worked when editing a reference to add to the database or generating a finished bibliography? Then again bibtex is exported using a fo...

No Journal Glossary update for BibTex files
My Sync Linked Bibtex File does not seem to update changes made in my Journal Glossary file. I removed some white spaces and Sync does not seem to register the changes. The other fields are updating fine so far.

Saving and loading custom names for reference types
Would like to know where can I save the names I gave to custom reference types, for example myjournal or mymagazine. I'm not talking about the format files with the extension ftm. These files do not load the custom reference type names. I'm not sure if they are saved on a file called Bookends Prefer...

Re: WiFi Sync Broken?
Thanks, but what I need is to find how-to sync with WiFi. My iPhone has the same network, but it's not showing in the lower left panel of devices. I ticked "Look for BE on iOS in iOS devices" under Preferences

Re: WiFi Sync Broken?
I'm trying to sync BE iOS on my iPhone with MacOS. It's been a while since I last used BE iOS. The problem is that the option you provided is greyed out. That is, File - WiFi Synced iOS Devices...

Re: Best practices to work with the Bib-sync feature
In this case we can use a very cool tool, 'jq' to post-process the JSON, removing fields and compressing the JSON to further speed things up. My 14MB BibTeX file becomes a sleek 3.3MB JSON file and therefore loads and is processed much quicker. Speed is the only benefit? Sounds like it's a lot of w...

Re: Best practices to work with the Bib-sync feature
Are you sure? What style are you using, Chicago? APA? BibLaTeX is much better than say, NatBib.

Don't know if it helps, but I activate "attachment" name for a column for all references under Preferences, List.
