This depends on what you want to do. If you want to import the citation info into Bookends, then you can export as RIS and then import the .ris file into Bookends (for example by dropping it on Bookends’ dock icon).

I haven’t thought of this much before – but sometimes I find myself slightly annoyed/bored by the fact it always is the same boring, authorless website reference that is active every time I start up Bookends. I guess I would find it more helpful and productive (and most certainly more entertaining) ...

Same here – I often (several times per week) mail PDFs to students and colleagues and in these cases I usually prefer to do so with attachments removed. As someone has said in another thread, that arrangement provided enough horizontal space for keywords, since they are in a vertical list, and made the abstract easier to read, since the lines were shorter.
