Re: using with JSTOR (for dummies)
This depends on what you want to do. If you want to import the citation info into Bookends, then you can export as RIS and then import the .ris file into Bookends (for example by dropping it on Bookends’ dock icon).

Re: remembering layout and settings across launches
I haven’t thought of this much before – but sometimes I find myself slightly annoyed/bored by the fact it always is the same boring, authorless website reference that is active every time I start up Bookends. I guess I would find it more helpful and productive (and most certainly more entertaining) ...

Re: animated tag cloud!
I just thought about the contents of the "date added" field, nothing more than that. This would certainly be dynamic enough for my understanding, as it would display the development of a bibliography over the course of a researcher’s career or a project’s lifetime.

animated tag cloud!
Last night I thought up a nice challenge for Jon: provide supported for animated tag clouds! Why? I have been using the tag cloud to give visitors to my profile page an overview over the stuff that I do research on. This has been popular and I have been asked by a couple people how I did this. (The ...

Re: Swiss libraries
Thanks for the update, Jon. (This seems not a pressing issue, at least, but in the long run probably a Good Thing.)

Re: Swiss libraries
It seems that more and more of the big (national etc.) libraries are moving away from z39.50 to SRU. This happens also in the Scandinavian countries for example (they still offer both routes of access but want to cut off z39.50 in the future.) Do you think it is possible (necessary) to expand Booken...

Re: export attachment without annotations?
Same here – I often (several times per week) mail PDFs to students and colleagues and in these cases I usually prefer to do so with attachments removed. I.e. for me it would be even more comfortable to have this as an option when e-mailing an article. (As an off topic aside: It would be great if you...

Wonderful. Problem solved.Jon wrote:Make a smart group that shows the last, say, 15 new references. Now the navigation commands will walk you through them.

New refs navigation (first, last)
An inquiry about the update to navigation in references: while I certainly see the point that the new method is more salient than the old, I quite often relied on the old method to work my way through a set of imports. The workflow would be like that: I import a couple of references while I do resea...

Re: Separate editing window
Also: please consider putting abstract and keywords side-by-side again. As someone has said in another thread, that arrangement provided enough horizontal space for keywords, since they are in a vertical list, and made the abstract easier to read, since the lines were shorter. I would support this ...
