I think I see (maybe). Bookends doesn't know if you have access to the full text until you actually try to access it (double-click or Go PubMed). Only then does it go to the PubMed page and try to get the full text article for you. There really isn't anyway around this, because PubMed doesn't keep t...

Hi strongbow, Yes, I've had another report of that as well. Hard to figure out -- the .dmg and .zip are made with Mac OS X 10.4.4, so it's all Apple code. I made an empty .dmg that lidador was able to open. So it seems there is a problem with this particular .dmg. This is obviously a bug in Mac OS X...

Hi, I guess I don't get what you're asking for. If you have a license, double-clicking on the reference in Internet Search takes you to the full text article (if there is one -- very recent entries sometimes don't have a link to the full article yet, but the vast majority do). Isn't that what you wa...

Hi, that's a lot of questions. 1. Bookends scans one file at a time. 2. Make sure you are using 9.0.2 -- there was a memory leak with export of BibTex to disk that we fixed a few iterations ago. 3. You can only generate keys for all references at once if you export/import. 4. The format of the autom...

Hi, Well, I can't speak to the synchronization process. But if Bookends has lost the ability to recognize a file, it may be that the file has lost it's metadata (creator and file type). You can reset these with a free app called File Type (available on VersionTracker). The settings should be Creator...

For journals it should not be 10/2. It should be 10(2) -- Bookends understands what that means. Then you can cite the volume and issue independently of one another. To answer your question, you can't have the filter import the info as 10/2. You could go to the trouble to do a find/replace that would...

Re: Turning Groups into Hits
In conclusion, I now know what do to - use a hidden feature (not present in any menu item) - but I'd recommend adding one or several of the possible UI elements mentioned above that allow a user to take a group or a highlighted selection and easily turn everything into Hits. The current method (shi...
