Global localization isn't going to happen. It simply isn't practical, and would really slow down development. As for Cocoa, who cares? Cocoa and Carbon are just frameworks. I think you are referring simply to the interface widgets that characterize Cocoa, some of which aren't easily available in Car...

Re: autolinking pdfs and BE would be great
Having a way to automagically link one's large library of pdfs with the bookends database would be great. I am sure that most of the pdfs I want linked are already present in my database, just unlinked. So how about taking the abstract field from bookends and searching (w/ spotlight?) the folder of...

You can download the doi automatically, but in some cases you'll get the pii instead, in some cases you'll get both. You can manaully edit those cases ...

Unfortunately, the doi tag is AID , which is the same tag that is used for the pii (a pii, or Controlled Publisher Identifier, is any internal reference identifier used in the publishing process. This identifier is assigned by the publisher). So you may import one or the other, or both, depending on...

I think arbitrary organization might not be a bad idea. But I don't see much of a point to segrate static from smart groups. It really shouldn't matter what the group type is. Functionally, they both fetch the relevant references. BTW, if you have a hard time distinguishing them, and would be helpfu...
