Re: In-App Purchase not recognized

Selflessly hijacking this thread....
Its not very clear in the app description. Does the standard version allow for normal wifi sync (i.e. like the old BoT)?

Re: Feature Request - Bibtex keys

If you enable BibTeX in preferences the name will change to Key.
The name in Bookends' inspector (edit reference, summary, etc..) yes. But not the name in the field selection for smart groups (hence the slight confusion).

Re: Feature Request - Bibtex keys

Thanks Jon, thats really important information. I assumed Bookends would skip already generated keys.
Just did a smart group for empty field on 'User1' (should really be called 'key').

Re: Feature Request - Backup

Jon, Thanks for explaining how Bookend and BoT handle the annotations. I'll try to keep posts more on point in future (a bit hard when the subject deals with how Bookends and BoT integrate together). Serge, Thanks for the explanation on the future BoT backup system. This is much better. It would be ...

Re: Feature Request - Bibtex keys

Hi Dellu, Yes, that is what I did in the end to fix the Bibtex keys. And yes, I do like it when others chime in (that's why I named the topic 'feature request' - to see if other users would be interested). I don't expect Jon to answer everything here. I seem to remember your name from the Sente foru...

Feature Request - Bibtex keys

Hi, I recently did a bibtex export from Bookends and noticed a few minor issues, and one major issue. Minor issues had to do with curly braces not being written around titles even though the preferences was set to do just that. The major issue was errors in the Bibtex citation key. I noticed the fol...

Feature Request - Backup

Hi, This is a feature request for better attachment backups with BOT. It is also a feature request for an FAQ on Bookends and BOT attachment annotations backups. From my understanding, the current version of BOT uses the IOS built-in backup. This isn't really adequate for the following reasons: a) W...

Re: Bookends On Tap and iCloud drive sync

Ok. Will just have to wait and see whats cooking.
I assumed BoT used Apple's pdf framework (curious as to why not), so perhaps the new update will help. These are book-sized or high-res pdf scans though, and sometimes osx Preview uses a lot of cpu as well.

Re: Bookends On Tap and iCloud drive sync

Great to hear that. If you don't mind, I would like to add a couple of 'syncing' feature requests for the new version of BoT (nothing big): a) Syncing of groups and smart groups (as an aside, I thought that BE smart groups were meant to turn into static groups in BoT during syncing, but I'm not gett...

Re: [Feature Request] Better Support for Pandoc Citations

On the surface this seems to be a simple feature to add to Bookends (or Pandoc). I would like to better explain the use case though: 1. Use Scrivener with Bookends (adding citations using Bookends' temp citation formatted for Pandoc - as above). Then, depending on the requirements and situation, eit...

Re: When was Bookends first released?

Quite amazing that Bookends was published by Sensible Software and written in Assembly. I miss those days. Why no Amiga version?

Re: Feature request: Bib sync

What's the problem with an AppleScript to do this? Probably no problem at all. I for one am not a fan of applescript (especially when they get big), but I imagine that in this case one would just have to call Bookends' export function and replace the existing bibtex file, so a pretty simple applesc...

Re: Feature request: Bib sync

Just a note on this. I would be interested in this functionality, but with a twist. I see no need to have the entire bookends library sync with a bibtex file. But would be very interested in having Bookends groups sync with bibtex files. As I see it, the bookends library is a repository for all rese...
