Have you tried a dash? 01-01-1904 ?
Assuming your system language isn't English, please try temporarily setting it to English. See if that helps.

Re: 'Added today' group remains empty
Because Bookends has been around long enough that some dates are saved in the old macOS epoch, which began in 1904, not 1970. At some point we will convert them. The solution for now will be to ignore locales and have the database recognize the slash (/) as the date part separator so that the same S...

Re: 'Added today' group remains empty
At some point that probably coincided with an OS upgrade the date parts delimiter varies with the system language setting. I've only had support requests about this from German users, so it may just apply to them. In any case, try using a - instead of a /. Like this dateAdded > datediff( now(), '01-...

Re: Possibly a bug when changing case of titles in standalone reference window
The standalone window is meant for entering and editing only, when it's in front most library-wide features are not available via the menus. Bring the library window to the front to use them. I don't see any problems using a right-click Change Case in a standalone reference field, nor with Global Ch...

Do a Find Again (Command-G) to find the next occurrence of the word you're searching for.

Re: Highlight References the text turns white
The algorithm we use for handling text on a colored background has been the same since...well...since we added color labels. If they were always black you could use dark shades like brown or navy blue. And FYI, when I use the factory default green it's white text on my system, too. It's possible tha...

Re: Highlight References the text turns white
The text color is determined by an algorithm that chooses what is most readable when the background is colored. You have several options I can think of. 1. In Settings, make the green a bit darker. That will increase the contrast. 2. In Settings, tell Bookends to color just the first column. That's ...

Re: Switching from iCloud to OneDrive
As long as you're not syncing with Bookends for iOS OneDrive is just fine. It's even one of the options in Settings for the default sync folder. Since your PDFs are already there, change the default attachment folder to Microsoft OneDrive and your PDFs will appear. If they don't, double check the pa...

I can't reproduce this problem with my library, and the linked file in your post appears to have been deleted. Please compress the library (in the Finder) and attach it to an email to support@sonnysoftware.com.

Re: A dot at the end of a title leads to double dots in the bibliography
Bookends should replace .. with ., as long as they are in the citation and not typed by you in the body of the text. What do you see in the formatted view display pane at the bottom of the library window?

Re: Superb improvement of Journal Glossary
That kind of open ended request isn't very useful. If you have no workflow in mind I have no idea what kind of solution would be appropriate or feasible. Since you can open the glossary in any text editor or spreadsheet and edit it there, there are many ways you can add or edit entries in bulk, it d...

Re: A dot at the end of a title leads to double dots in the bibliography
Where is the second period coming from? If it's in the body of the text (i.e. outside of the citation) Bookends doesn't know it's there. In any case, you can edit the format so that the title isn't terminated with a period.
