Re: Thoughts for the new trash category
In my case, I had a reference with two attachments. I chose one of the attachments and chose to move only it to the trash. The reference and its one remaining attachment remained in the library. Perhaps the confusion is this. Prior to the new Trash internal group, Move to Trash unambiguously meant M...

Re: Some questions about note-taking
With regard to your comment on using markdown in notes or notecards, I have found that the only "markdown-like" syntax that is recognized for viewing notes or notecards within BE is the #text or # text to indicate a header. Note that the first option without a space between # and text was ...

Thoughts for the new trash category
Thank you again for continuing to add great features even as you also squash random, hard-to-find bugs. WRT the new Trash group, I have one suggestion. The Move to Trash option for an attachment detaches the attachment and moves the attachment to the Trash *at the Finder level*. I'd prefer that this...

Attaching a local or iCloud PDF to a reference?
I seem to be befuddled by the process to attach a PDF to a reference in one particular use case. The case is when the PDF is stored either locally on my iPad or on my iCloud service. I had hoped that I might just need to do one or the other of these options ... * Click on the (grayed out) paper clip...

Request: ToC tab always visible
I appreciate the wealth of information that is accessible by clicking on the book icon when viewing a PDF. I can select among Table of Contents (ToC), Bookmarks, Notes, Information and Meta-Content. DevonThink to Go would do well to mimic this approach for their comparable book icon (which shows onl...

Feature Request: (x) option on New Library
On the dialog box to create a new library, please add an (x) at the end of the input to allow a user to completely delete the default Library1 name that appears. This will save having to select the term and/or to hit delete eight times.

Request: Printing attachments
I'd like to be able to print an attachment directly from BE. I cannot see a context menu or menu bar button that allows this. Hitting CMD-P when the attachment window is in focus seems also not to recognize that the attachment is to be printed, not the reference.

Re: Feature Request: Improvements to SQL searches
OK. I now see where <doi> and <pmid> are noted to be mapped to user17 and user18 on page 299 in the User Manual. This appears to be the only place where the association is made. In summary, these changes would help * Page 208 in User Manual -- include a map to describe how all userN fields fit by de...

Re: Suggestions on improving bookends IOS
One improvement I ask while considerations are made to include other cloud services on iOS. Can you allow iCloud sync to be restricted only to selected groups or folders on the macOS? This is the one feature that keeps me using WiFi sync rather than iCloud sync. Even though I also divide my large co...

Feature Request: Improvements to SQL searches
I find the SQL searches are invaluable in managing the integrity across citations. Find empty abstracts. Find "funky notes". Find ... Please consider these two improvements. * Add more fields to the SQL. Three important ones that are missing include DOI, PMID, and PMCID. Searching on missi...

Notes field not being removed when emptied
I am not sure whether I posted a previous finding about this directly to support or here. I will follow up here for others to test and comment. * Find a reference that has no notes. * Open the sidebar panel (the one with three tabs -- Main, Notes, Attachments) * Add a note with a short text (e.g. te...

Feature Request: Context Click on Dock Shows Recent Libraries List
I am using multiple libraries to manage multiple projects. I would appreciate when a context click on Bookends icon in the Dock would show a list of Recent libraries to choose.

Re: Script: Copy Attachments to Default Folder for Library
I should post a short description on the possible reasons to use this script. Suppose you have a (large) collection in the Attachments folder. You decide to split off a sub-collection in a library called MyCitations. This library should hold only the citations that you have authored. For whatever re...

Re: Script: Copy Attachments to Default Folder for Library
This version is updated with these changes * copies or moves the attachment * renames the attachment using the format libraryname_date author. This is equivalent to the renaming format "!_d a". Run this with the Report option on All references to learn what actions would be taken. CAVEAT: ...

Thanks. The update fixed it.
Gotta love keeping track for "literal strings" versus stringVariables versus $stringPointers.
