Re: all internet searches return no hits?
I do not have any problem about the database above, but I would like to note that the University of Chicago instead returns a message: <h1>Failed to initialize to libcat.uchicago.edu It has been going for my computers for last week. I am usually using Oxford University as my subject library, so I ca...

Re: import from Citavi
Dear Jon, It is true their RIS format is far from perfect. I have more success to import through BibTex import, but I lose the original references in Crossref (e.g. a contribution in an edited book becomes an independent reference, with the title of the edited book pasted into the title of the contr...

import from Citavi
Dear Jon, I have searched the forum for an answer but without avail. What is the best way to import from Citavi into Bookends? I tried RIS format but many of the original fields were missing. While I understand that the PDFS can be attached again, at the moment I am more concerned about the simple i...

Cited pages problems
Sorry, but I have a query relative to Bookend 10.6.4, but it also in the most recent version I have donwloaded the demo. I am trying to cite the page, so I copy the citation, which appears such as {Adams, 1997, #77418@38}. When I scan however, the citation goes to appear as (Adams, 199738). I use th...

Re: New note stream formatting
Dear John, thanks for the reply. Yes, the hieroglyphs will be pasted as graphics. I did not give a real try for it, and I am not at the moment in front of my Mac, but to a PC, so I cannot give a real try, but I will let you know about it sometime after the weekend. Thanks a lot for the prompt answer...

New note stream formatting
Dear list members, as Egyptologist by training, sometimes I need to write notes with hieroglyphs or adding tables to them. I am still in version 10, but as far as I understood, a full note field like a sort of text processing file is not implemented yet. I come from Notabene, and in that case, I cou...

Re: Citation import window problem
Dear Jon, thank you very much for your help. Downloading and reinstalling Bookends has done the trick. About IP authentication, my university had a lot of problems setting the proxy server for off-campus use a few year ago that it has preferred to give about IP authentication altogether, as passing ...

Citation import window problem
Dear List members, I am a former user of Notabene, so I passed to the MacWorld quite recently. I have however, a considerable problem with importing. Importing from JSTOR, but I believe that the the same is with any other web capture, I have the following problem. As I capture the onscreen reference...
