A return within a notecard
I thought I had this figured out, but went on a hiatus and did not get back to writing until after that last update or two. Now I cannot put more than one shift-return into a notecard. If I do, I like a space between header and body of note, the note text is now in the next notecard. Is this possibl...

iPhone 6 Plus and note cards
Now that there is a fairly large iPhone, are there any plans to make annotation via note cards or notes available on the iPhone?

Re: A question on databases and best practices for them
About 30 minutes after I wrote this post, while doing something entirely different, I stumbled upon the answer in the user guide. Consider this question answered.

A question on databases and best practices for them
I originally envisioned having a separate database for Philosophy, History, and any other major topics I found myself writing on. But then it occurred to me, that I frequently use historical references in philosophy and sometimes the other way around. So it would seem that having a separate database...

Re: Notes in the note string
Thanks, I was going to write back but I wanted to wait a bit.Jon wrote:I can reproduce the addition of a spurious empty notecard, it's a bug. It will be fixed in the next update, but for now simply delete the extra notecard with the Delete key.

Re: Question about how to use Bookends
Try holding down Option+Command in Bookends and then dragging the reference to DT. Or use Edit -> Copy Hypertext Link and then pasting into DT. Jon Sonny Software This has been a very helpful thread, glad I found it. Question: is there now, or might there be going forward, a way to have DTPO index ...

Annotating two column PDFs
I just ran into a hitch annotating some PDFs, and I wonder if anybody knows a workaround. Some of the journals that I have PDFs from are two column journals. The result is that attempting to highlight text in those PDFs does not work at all. This is not just a problem with Bookends, the same problem...

Re: Optimal combination of DT and BE?
Ph.D in the Humanities candidate here and this is my workflow, fwiw. I divide the workflow into two separate sections. 1. Managing the pdfs/epubs/whatevers and citations 2. Processing the information I use BE to manage the pdfs and the citations. When I acquire a source I import it to BE and make s...

Optimal combination of DT and BE?
This is not a question about future possible interactions between the two programs, nor is it a feature request. Rather, I am asking those of you that already use both DEVONThink and Bookends together what you have found to be the optimal way of parceling out your work between the two applications. ...

Notes in the note string
There is a minor problem that I don't know how to solve with notes in the note stream. When I ask it to add a note it does so. But when I finished dictating into the note, and close it, another note has been added before the one I'm dictating in. It's a blank note with nothing in it. It is easy enou...

Re: I am probably missing something . . .
Did you notice that there is a difference between "Book" and "Edited Book"? Declan Yes, but silly me I automatically think of an edited book as, for example, a collection of essays by multiple authors rather than a book like an edition of Sextus Empiricius with a Translator and ...

I am probably missing something . . .
I feel silly. In the Book ref type I can find Series Editor(s), but I cannot see just plain editor. I am sure there is something I am overlooking or have not yet grasped about Bookends. So can somebody please thump me on the head and get me straightened out?

From Sente to Bookends
I have two documents in Sente (one is in NWP and the other in Pages) that I need to convert to Bookends. Any ideas on a method better than just plodding through the documents citation by citation? Your suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers!
