I think arbitrary organization might not be a bad idea. But I don't see much of a point to segrate static from smart groups. It really shouldn't matter what the group type is. Functionally, they both fetch the relevant references. BTW, if you have a hard time distinguishing them, and would be helpfu...

Biblio -> Formats Manager -> Edit.

The is a section on the left under the word Case. Change the Title case to As Entered.

Hi,

Of course. This is specified in the format you are using. You can edit the format to not change case (which is the default for most formats, of course). It is a pop-up menu option in the first tab.

It works here. I suspect that in Preview you have the picture cropping tool selected instead of the text selection tool (Tool Mode in the toolbar).

Hi,

I don't know. I'm not sure I see an advantage to this over a strict alphabetical listing, both have pluses and minuses.

EN usually inserts author, date, and record number. If that's true in your case, a procedure that has worked well for others is to export the references from the EN database as XML and import them into Bookends. Bookends will try to preserve the record number as the Bookends unique ID. In most cases...

AFAIK it is (EndNote does this, too). If anyone has information to the contrary, let us know.

You didn't say what word processor you are using.

If it is Word, I'd unscan the document, remove the bibliography (if one remains), and then scan again.

I'd do that on a copy of the doc, BTW, just in case there is some corruption in the Word manuscript.

Hi, See if you can verify the server address, port, and database name (googling "atla z39.50" may get you what you want). You can also contact Danny if that doesn't give the info you need (I don't have that filter and don't know where he got the information for it -- if it's a subscription...

We don't distribute an ATLA filter that can be used for internet searches? Did you make this one, or get it from someone else? Sounds like the connect information is incorrect (the server address and/or database name, probably).

Don't forget you can always save the file as RTF and scan that if necessary. You have to keep the original if you ever want to scan the file again (always a good idea, anyway).

What is the actual wording of the message? If you are scanning a Word document, there is a limit imposed by the clipboard. In theory, this is 16 MB, but at least with Word it's something less than this (we discuss this in detail in the Read Me). It's never the amount of text or citations that causes...
