Mark all current group as hits
[Sorry tried to search for this but all terms rejected as 'too common'] The Biblio -> Bibliography will export only hits. hits are no persistent, destroyed [sic] by any new database search. I've defined bibliographies for use in different draft papers in separate groups. To export these they must de...

Re: v12.7.6 - import bibtex from clipboard?
Thanks, that works nicely. When the hood's up next on the User Guide, the 'Import references' section pp282-283 would be improved if mentioned the method (in your reply above) of adding extra formats to the drop-down default list via the Import Filer Manager. Or, it could be covered elsewhere and li...

v12.7.6 - import bibtex from clipboard?
Until tonight (just updated the app) I've been importing bibtex formatted reference data (from the ACM Library) via the clipboard. Currently, the Import dialog (Cmd+Shift+i) has the clipboard option greyed out. Also, I think there used to be a bibtex option in the format popup in the import dialog. ...

Re: Format Manager - insert URL
Thanks for the nudge. An infelicitously constructed sample URL and a line break was making look like the title was being reported. All well now and also happily tabbing to update the formats. It's odd that the format segment ( “t”, ) renders with the comma inside [sic] the closing quote and note as ...

Format Manager - insert URL
Hi. I'm trying make a format for an internet reference but I can't get just the URL. If I put a 'z' it inserts both the URL from the URL field and unbidden adds the title which the format I want doesn't allow. Is there a code or modifier to correctly insert the actual URL with no extra stuff? Also, ...

Re: Accessing Bookend via Dropbox
Thanks. I'll send a feature request for local paths to support so you've something to put on the spike (I quite appreciate a request is just that - possible 'jam tomorrow'). I quite see that until a few years ago, pre Dropbox and cloud storage that fixed local paths were the logical choice. As a sid...

Re: Accessing Bookend via Dropbox
I've a similar scenario different Macs (with different account usernames) at home and in in the Uni's Lab. I've got lots of PDFs in '~/Dropbox/…' folder. The PDFs are linked in other systems and can't be moved to the Bookends attachments folder. The latter and my library BDB file are also on Dropbox...

Re: BibTeX imports, conf proc - wrong mapping
Thanks. Understand the comment re granularity of the import filter. For later readers, the import filters are accessed via File -> Import Filter Manager. On the dialog that opens, scroll the left list pane and select the desired data format (e.g. 'BibTeX') and the mappings are loaded in the right pa...

BibTeX imports, conf proc - wrong mapping
Is this something I can fix? I'm using BibTeX copied/pasted form Google Scholar and ACM pages. Data like this: @inproceedings{rosenberg2002conditional, title={Conditional Spatiality}, author={Rosenberg, Jim}, booktitle={Second Workshop on Spatial Hypertext, ACM Hypertext}, volume={2}, pages={12}, ye...

Aha, it's under 'Alphabetise references' on the 'Bibliographic Options' tab of the selected format in the format manager. Shown here below, in case it helps others still finding their way:

Re: Where do I set the output order of the bibliography
Um, I'm confused - I'm not using a scanned document as stated previously. The only order available is as in the hits list (author/year) and this isn't being honoured. The output order depends on your format. If you want it sorted, choose that option in the format. Thanks, but where ? I've checked th...

Where do I set the output order of the bibliography
I've selected 55 hits in my Library - the hits are ordered by author name,. But when I export the list to a bibliography file, this list is formatted correctly but in the wrong order. It looks to be listing the items in the order they were selected as hits (which seems a really odd default). There i...

Formatted Ref - where does HTML come from?
Hi, I've got my library set to use 'ACM SIG' for the formatted reference pane in the main library window. But, references are including a whole lot of HTML: Bernstein, M., Joyce, M., and Levine, D. 1992. Contours of Constructive Hypertexts. Proceedings of the ACM conference on Hypertext, 161-170.<sp...
