Idea - Change in annotation tool ordering
I'll post this as a thought for discussion. I annotate on my iPad. I highlight sentences. I want to add a note to that sentence as a reminder, especially as something that I can export to a report when I am back at my macOS. I find it a bit cumbersome to have to select through Note and then select C...

Re: What is the checkbox for!?
Checking the checkbox puts the selected reference into the Hits List category. Some subsequent menu operations allow you to use select only the references in the Hits List as an option. Think of this checkbox as a way to select from a longer list of references only those that you want to process in ...

Re: Feature Requests: A few ideas on utility
Thank you. I look forward to the updates with (1) and (3). Glad to hear that they are in consideration. As for (2), the consideration to make when for a web page where the PDF is inaccessible. Bookends iPadOS has no way that I see to import the web page content as a new reference. Even when that web...

Feature Requests: A few ideas on utility
1) I have found a few times when I edit fields that I also want to continue reviewing the field yet save the current edits that I have made to that point. The only way to save the current edited state is to close the field. Would you consider adding (Save) and (Cancel) buttons to the field editor wi...

Re: Label synchronisation between applications
I am not aware that labels or ratings will automatically synchronize outside Bookends. An AppleScript approach will likely have to push the label and the rating into user fields as a go-between transport mechanism. Finder tags will synchronize across apps. FWIW, I suggest that exporting the informat...

Re: Obsidian Export Format - A Starting Point
I have decided not to post my entire "Functionalize" library attachments folder. I will instead post snapshot reports with the corresponding attachments. I was looking for a way for a user to input text "on the fly" at the time references are exported, where the text is then incl...

Re: Obsidian Export Format - A Starting Point
I have a thought for consideration after using this approach a bit more. The export could benefit by having an "input query field" in the format. Suppose this "input query field" was marked with a question mark ?. Here is a specific example of the case in practice. I currently us...

Yes. I do appreciate this change even while I have been too distracted to acknowledge the circumstances.

My apologies. I recall this now that you mentioned it.

Obsidian Export Format - A Starting Point
I have begun a quest for an effective way to share my library resources with my colleagues who have Windows systems. After flirting with Mendeley and Papers, I am now working on a method to use a combination with Google Drive to store the PDFs and Obsidian to store note files. I am posting my exampl...

Re: Requests for File->Export References
OK. I missed the Alphabetize references checkbox in the format as a way to force the sort order. I had it checked. Unchecking exports the report with the list items sorted as viewed.
The shift-click trick is useful.
Thanks!

Requests for File->Export References
I am using the File->Export References option to export a report. I have two requests. * I anticipate using this option often to generate snapshot reports on notes that I make in the library database. I will export from a Smart Group or Static Group when I create the report. The menu option has sub-...

Or click on white space, if there is any, and move the new group where you want it (if you don't want it at the root level). This presents a difficulty. Suppose that my side...

Bug: Stuttering Affect to creating Default Subfolder
I am absolutely pleased with the new ability to create sub-folders to the main Attachments folder on iOS with WiFi sync. Nicely done!! This will be a tremendous benefit to my organization across an otherwise unmanageable number of different, on-going research themes. I have one finding. When you use...
