Jon, since there has been no contrary feedback, I think you can bundle the DIN 1505 style with 9.0.4. I think you could by making a format Type in which "(Hrsg.)," was output as the "punctuation" between names. No? I did not do this since this would also add the "(Hrsg.)&quo...

weird drawer resizing

Hm, it seems to remember the window position for me, but it does weird things with the drawer (in list view). When I move the list view window around with the drawer open (no other bookends windows open), the drawer will automatically resize it. Most of the time with somewhat hilarious results. The ...

8. For titles output in Sentence case, the first letter of a word following a colon, period, or question mark will be capitalized. This works now, thanks! However, even before this change I was wondering why "Sentence case" does more than just making the first word of a new sentence start...

erm, when I double click the beta to start it, it tells me "This beta version of Bookends has expired."

That was a short beta cycle! ;)

Re: DIN 1505

I think you could by making a format Type in which "(Hrsg.)," was output as the "punctuation" between names. No? Good idea. That would at least work for edited volumes. However, if I have a book that has for example one author and two editors this work-around would not help anym...

DIN 1505

Whew. After quite a few hours, I finally finished tweaking a style that should come pretty close to the current version of the official German citation standard, DIN 1505 Teil 2. I based the style on the pdf document that is available under http://www.bui.fh-hamburg.de/pers/klaus.lorenzen/ASP/litver...

now I am somewhat confused... did you actually solve the problem with the year field not allowing for a span of years to be entered? I also encountered this just yesterday for a source which had a span of years. I entered the span (in this case "1997-2001") into the year field, but in the ...

Since many German formats do only include the place and not the publisher I have added quite a few entries into Bookends for which I only know the place.

Well, I only had to change the database name from "hebis-inkl-aufs" to "hebis" to get it to work again. I sent an updated version of the import filter to Jon to be included in future releases.

Are there any plans to change this?

Although I have participated in editing a 5-editor volume and therefore would be interested in always having all the editor's names spelled out ;) I think this might be not exactly a common case, but also not particularly rare…

The last time I checked (several months ago) access to the DDB was restricted somehow, which lessened my motivation to build an import filter tremendously. However, I think they might be more accessible by now. (They should - I think it's a huge scandal that they aren't!) If you whip up something be...
