Re: Citation styles

There are two possible variants for temporary citations in Bookends for iOS: 1. The reference is created by BOT and was never synced with Bookends for Mac. In this case this reference will not have unique id and the temporary citation will look like this: {Clarke et al., 2016, BMC Vet Res, 13} 2. T...

Re: Citation styles

There is nothing magic about temp citations, with one exception. If the temp citation contains just words, all must be found in the reference to obtain a match. What Bookends and Bookends for iOS can do is try to create an unambiguous citation from the reference fields. You can type them in from th...

Citation styles

I'm getting to grips with the copying of citations from BEOT to Scrivener, and just want to check what I suspect is correct. When tapping on the 'citation' link, I (understandably) cannot find my particular style format listed, since it is rather unique - which is why I needed to build my own format...

Re: Scanning messes up manuscript's format

The 15.28 Word update has a known bug in paste. You can do one of three things: 1. Revert to an older version of Word 2. Save the file as RTF, and scan that file from within Bookends. 3. Scan from within Word, and after the scan Select All and Edit -> Paste Special -> Formatted Text (RTF). [This wo...

Re: Feature Request: WiFi sync

Another happy user - +/- 2600 references, +/- 12GBs, all done in under 15 minutes, first time - without issues!

Well done Serge and Jon!

PDF viewing pane not refreshing?

Hello all, Is it just me? With the Attachments pane showing, when a reference is selected - the PDF view of that PDF then appears at the bottom, as would be expected. When selecting a different PDF, the 'new' PDF then automatically appears in the bottom pane – again, as expected. This is no longer h...

Re: Feature Request: WiFi sync

FWIW - I too will be waiting for the Wifi sync, and will then plunge all-in on the new Bookends. Will gladly through the annual subscription your way then! :D I'm already on the 200GB iCloud package - but 3/4s of that space is already being taken up by my Photos library. Chucking another 13GBs is go...

Re: Bookends for iOS released

Great news Jon!

Could you please confirm the best way to transition?

Can we keep the original BoT version, and simply start syncing with the new version? Or would it be better to remove the original, and only sync with the new app?

Re: Feature request: copy unique ID

You could probably get the unique id in a script (field = "uniqueid") and do something like that, but why not wait until iOS 10 is released ? We're going to have a much better solution... Jon Sonny Software Thanks for the quick reply. It is just around the corner... It's certainly turning...

Re: Feature request: copy unique ID

Jon, could the following work as a temporary(?) solution? If a script/KM macro (something similar) could be used to copy the unique-identifier code/number into one of the "open"/user-defined fields that is currently read/synced to BoT, then that info would be pulled over to BoT? Over in Sc...

Re: Feature request: copy unique ID

A HUGE +1 to add to the above.

Scrivener for iPad is a little powerhouse. DevonthinkToGo2 is imminent, and looking very solid.

Being able to share/import the citation references from BoT into Scrivener iPad will close the loop. Really looking forward to seeing what the iOS10 update brings!

Re: Feature Request: Custom to Recent Colours

This sounds like it would be a useful addition. We’ll explore it and see what’s possible. Hi Serge - hate to be "that" person, but just want to follow-up to hear if the above is still open for consideration. Recently took the plunge on an iPad Pro - and with Scrivener for iOS seemingly be...

Re: Bookends and workflow

Must agree with the above on DTPO. Easily does that and more. Replication, Duplication, Annotation, Indexing, Tagging, Wiki-linking, Smart searching with AI - pretty much all one would need for information management. That being said, I clearly remember the first time I imported a sample folder into...
