Google Scholar
I notice that the new Papers (1.7 as of writing) can search Google Scholar, and as such JSTOR and many others. Even nicer, it allows for (1) immediate download of the PDF, and (2) imports the basic bibliographic info that is associated. Can we hope to have Bookends also search Google Scholar and do ...
Hi Jon, Yes, either drag-and-drop of an entire folder, or through an import dialogue in the menu. So: (1) yes, drag-and-drop an entire folder; (2) have automatic or semi-automatic some way of synchronising/updating the notes attached in that folder without having to manually go and drop-and-drag eve...
I for one would like to put in a vote for multiple notes per reference in BE. One of two options: 1. Let BE index/import/attach all the notes of a given FOLDER in the Finder, or all the notes in another piece of software (that gives access to each note's unique ID in Mac OS X), and have an easy way ...

Can't get attached folders to work (9.2.1)
I can't seem to get the new "attach folders to reference" through drag-n-drop to work. It makes a link but then says that "Can't find file X". Likewise when I try to do it manually through the attachment inspector, I can't select a folder...only files.

Just wanted to say thanks
...and so soon on the heels of 9.2 itself. :-) This one feature -- plain text hyperlinking -- now allows for linking between my BE references and the equivalent folder of notes in my DT database. This is one of the types of integration many have been hoping for. Excellent. To complete it, we'd just ...

internet search fails for universities, not amazon
Hi Jon, I'm trying to use the internet search to search my university's library (Oxford U). However, it doesn't seem to work consistently with me. I entered a book that I know is at the university (I've used it), and I get "reply is empty". I tried with the author's name and the title, and...

problem with BE files to online backup services
Fearing data loss, I have been trying a few online data backup services, particularly Xdrive and Amazon's s3 (using JungleDisk and Interarchy). I am having a problem with Bookends files. If I upload them to the servers, and then redownload them, I can't open the bookends file. If I zip it up first, ...

how best to name PDF to maximize Find & Attach Local PDF
I used to dump all of my PDFs downloaded off of JSTOR and other humanities sites straight into DEVONthink Pro, and then name them there. I am now putting them in a folder that can be accessed by BE and indexed by DT. So, I'm having to go through and rename them. However, I'm finding that, despite tr...

REGEX help for removing first n characters from every word
Could REGEX wizards help, please? I need a regex search that will find all words that begin with XX in Field Z, and then removing the first n characters of every such word.
I read the regex stuff in the manual, did some internet searches, but no cigar. Can anyone help?
