Thank you! ... for fixing some unicode diacritics characters

I was having a problem with certain unicode diacritics characters, namely two diacritics used in transliteration of semitic languages, which look like a "U" -- one turned on its side to the left, and the other to the right. When importing such characters into Bookends through a bibtex file...

Just wanted to voice my support for the List View "ignore list for author" as well. I know it's a technical limitation, but I just wanted to voice that more people than just Shayne would love to see this. :)

I use DEVONthink Pro. Best long-term note-taking/storage software I've ever come across. Would certainly echo others' desires on this forum for closer cooperation b/w Bookends & DEVONtech in order to facilitate what you metnion above.

I personally have already recently aired my support for what Danny has mentioned here and on the DT forum. For the sheets in DT to stay synchronized with the BE database, and for the ability to launch a BE reference would be useful. But it is really the former -- the synching of the sheet with the B...

...then how about holding hands with the developers of DevonThink, and seeing if a way to synchronize becomes possible, especially with Dt's upcoming overhaul of the way their database works? I'm sure what I'm mentioning is not as easy as it seems, but if you do a quick search for Bookends in the De...

Did anything ever come from the suggestion to have the "date entered" hard-wired into each reference as a permanent tag, even if generally inaccessible from the fields? The suggestion mentioned above, of being able to set smart groups with relative dates, would be a fruitful feature for th...

The name is entered as you mentioned: last name, first name. I just tried it in Mellel (thinking it might be something with DEVONthink), and I had the same problem. Even if it is not a problem in the scan, i would prefer to have just the last name, year, for the sake of clarity and lack of on-screen...

double spaces in temporary citation

My apologies for what might be a simple question, but I'm still learning here... I am entering temporary citations at the end of notes I'm taking into my note database in DevonThink Pro. I go to Bookends, press command Y on the source, and then after being reverted to DT Pro I paste the temporary ci...

Thanks for the improvement, Jon, but as you can see from this thread, I think the need for the ability to manipulate prefixes and other foreign elements is in the authors' names, not so much in the titles, since the names is where organization usually takes place. That being said, I'm not a coder or...

The only transliteration snags I've run into so far are those for Arabic. The possible prefixes are "al-", "Al-", "el-", and "El-". The demarker for the end of the prefix is uniformally the dash/hypen (-) for transliterating Arabic words and names. When you me...

"ignore words" - ignore prefix?

I have a bunch of works in my database which are transliterated from other languages, including Arabic. Some of the tiles or authors begin with "al-", which simply means "the" in Arabic. However, I would like for the list to be sorted according to the word that follows this prefi...
