Bookends and Endnote

Post by monsda »

Hello there!

I tried to use Bookends and I have to admit it works quite fine. As most of my co-workers use Endnote 7/8 on XP/2000 machines I have to be able to import AND export databases. Importing works fine, just exporting does not work at all. When I export, Endnote does not recognize the file as importable.

What can I do?

Thanks, Jan

Hi Jan,

I am on vacation in Italy at the moment and just saw this post.

Use the EndNote (Refer) format that we supply with Bookends (enable it in the Formats window first). Select the references you want to export (make them hits). Then --

1. Biblio -> Biblio Formatter
2. Send the 'bibliography' to disk as plain text in the EndNote (Refe) format.
3. Import this file into EndNote.

I will be back Aug 24 if there are any more questions...

Bookends to EndNote 7

I tried what Jon wrote here. EndNote would not import it. In endNote I tried to use Import Options of "ReferBiblX" and "tabDelimited". Nothing succeeded. What did i do wrong?

Hi hhit,

It's too simple. :->

Just use the EndNote filter called "EndNote Import".
