Importing from Reference Manager for Windows

Post by the_other_robert »

I had problems importing a database from Refman for Windows into Bookends. I used the RIS Format and it looked fine at first, but i noticed that the title of the articles (kind of important) were not there.
Erverything else was.

It seems that the RIS-Import Filter in Bookends is not correct on this one (or is it Refmans fault?). I solved the Problem by changing the expexted tag for title to "T1" instead of "TI" which it was before. Everything worked fine after that.

Just thought i let you know.

Hi Greetz,

Thanks for the info. Did you use the latest RIS filer? I seem to recall changing the title tag in the RIS filter to T1 several months ago. I will check when I return from vacation (Aug 24).

Quick followup:

I'm back and have had a chance to check. TI and T1 are both acceptable ways of referring to the primary title field (see http://www.refman.com/support/risformat_tags_01.asp ).

I have edited the RIS import filter to accept either. This (along with a few other minor changes) will be included in a silent update we will be uploading later today.
