I've just purchased Bookends and I'm trying to add some records. But I'm having trouble changing the reference type. When I select "book chapter" instead of "journal article," there's no change whatever.
What's going on?

The field labels don't change as a function of Type -- they are constant. What does change is the way the fields are handled when creating a bibliography. For example, the Volume field holds the volume number of a Journal Article, but holds the title of the book when a Book Chapter is cited.
If a field doesn't apply to a particular Type (e.g. Editors for a Journal Article), simply ignore it (or use it for some other purpose).
