Scan removes footnote and temporary citation

Hello,

Using Word 2011 and BE 11.2.6, I have just run into an issue with a footnote and citation. I edited some text in the body, added a footnote, inserted the citation through the scripts menu, and added the page numbers (using @44). I then scan the document through the scripts menu. When done, this particular footnote is completely gone, even including the body text edit. I tried making my edits and footnote with the citation, then saved as a new document. When I rescan, the same thing happens again. All my other citations worked fine, so I have no idea how this could be a setting of some kind, but I suppose it must be. I have citations before and after this one.
