Hello everyone,
I have a question concerning the usage of Ibid. for repeated authors.
Say I quote an author twice, so the second quotation becomes an "Ibid.".
Now, say that on the very next page, I use the exact same quotation again with no other authors quoted in between. Bookends will, of course, produce an "Ibid."-reference again.
My question: Is it somehow possible to tell bookends that whenever a repeated-author-citation appears after a page break, the author is fully mentioned again? That would mean an improvement in readability in my documents...
I hope you understand my question...
Question on Repeated Citations
Re: Question on Repeated Citations
I do. That's not possible. Bookends doesn't know anything about page layout, pagination, etc. If you want the non-Ibid. form, you'll have to change that post-scan.

Re: Question on Repeated Citations
Depending on your workflow and output requirements you could treat each page as a separate document in your word processor and then merge the results into a pdf for publication. A word processor with master document capabilities such as Word may also work as long as you do not rescan the master document. . Indesign, because it uses frames may also work by not flowing text from page to page. None of these solutions are elegant but would meet the format required. Timofcanberra
