Per the new update for BE with expanded New PDF viewer with search, markup, and annotation

when I open a pdf in Preview and mark it up --having selected “Use Annotation View for PDFs” in the Action pop-up menu underneath the reference list.
I get NO NOTES at all in Bookends ! --even after saving the PDF from Preview no note appear in the notes list for that PDF article

Please advise what I need to do to get the feature discussed as When using the PDF annotation view, PDF notes will automatically appear as virtual notecards at the end of the note stream (highlighted in a color different from reference notes,

You don't have to anything, it all just works.

When you edit a pdf in another app, you have to reload it in Bookends to see the changes (just clicking on the reference in the list will refresh the view).
