Import from Endnote 4

Post by Timotheus »

I won't be the first to ask this question, but before considering buying Bookends I want to be absolutely sure of one thing. I have a rather large database (some 3500 items) which is still in Endnote 4 (I got problems with later versions, so I continued working with this one). Is it possible to import this database into Bookends easily and without problems?

Yes.

Here are the instructions (from our web site, and in an appendix in the User Guide as well). Do this with 50 references exported from EndNote 4 to make sure it works for you (the name of the style in EndNote 4 may or may not be the same as EndNote 6/7, but it should be close -- if you can't figure out which one to use, please ask and I'll fish out my old copy of EndNote 4).

In EndNote:

• Examine the Edit -> Output Styles menu.
• If “Refer Exportâ€
