12.5 manual scan fails

Hi Jon,

This morning I went to scan a complex text document as I've done since ~2006. Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug in 12.5 that causes it to lock up without scanning references. I tried it on two different computers, I tried rebuilding my database, and I tried scanning a document that I know worked correctly under 12.2. All reproducibly hung Bookends.

I was able to find a machine in my lab still running 12.2 and scan my references successfully. But this is a pretty serious bug if it is affecting others too.

I don't want to attach my document and reference library, but can share it with you over email if that would be helpful for debugging.

The scanning code was completely rewritten for 12.5.x, so in fact it may be a bug in scanning a plain text file. Please send me your database and the smallest test file you can so that I can see what's up. Send to support@sonnysoftware.com.
