I am wondering if there is any way to create a smart group of papers that do not currently have a finder tag. Thank you for any help.

No. You can search for tags but not the absence of tags.

Thanks. I can accomplish it in Finder, but thought it might be a tad more convenient to do it in app. No bid deal. :D

I have a question that is related to this old thread.

In the viewing pane, where there is the list of entries/references, is it possible to also see a column/field displaying finder-tags (as opposed to Bookend-labels)?

Thanks!

No, PDF tags are only visible in the PDF toolbar when the PDF is showing. One (but not the most important) reason for not showing tags in the reference list is that you may have more than one PDF attached to a reference.

Hi,

Have you found any workaround to make a smart group for references with no finder tags?

Thanks

No. Is there a Spotlight search for PDFs without tags?

Thank you Jon. Honestly, I am not sure, but it seems you cannot do a Spotlight search for PDFs without tags. However, as mentioned earlier, you can do so by smart folders in finder. Anyway, it is not a big deal, I just wanted to avoid switching back and forth between finder and Bookends.
