Reference Types

Post by swmartin1960 »

Hello. I'm wanting to create a new reference type for a lecture or address, but can't find any information or advice in the forums. When I search (entering either "reference type" or reference+type) I get a response that says the terms "reference" and "type" are too general.

In preferences (Refs tab), double click on an unused Type (slowly) and you can then edit it. Rename it to whatever you want.

Thanks, Jon. That works really well. Is there any way of customizing the data entry template for the new type, e.g. to take out unnecessary fields?

No. You can move fields around (not in a Type-specific way), but you can't delete any. Just tab through the ones for which you have no information to add.
