All of a sudden, the formatted references at the bottom of the List View have formatting notes included. For example:
\textbf{Pavelkova, M. and Kubala, L.} (2004). Luminol-, isoluminol- and lucigenin-enhanced chemiluminescence of rat blood phagocytes stimulated with different activators. \emph{Luminescence} \textbf{19}, 37--42.
The "\textbf\" stuff is apparent no matter what format I use from the drop-down menu. (And I do not remember it being there before).
This all started after a very large export to a Bibtex format. . . .
thanks

Problem w/ display of refs in bottom window of List View
Right. You have BibTeX formatting turned on, so Bookends is showing your references with BibTeX styled text embedded commands.
To set it back to regular styled text (or HTML, or plain text, or...) invoke this
Biblio -> Bibliography Formatter
change the settings to what you want, and then click on the Set Defaults button.
