Using TextEdit

Post by jzents »

I do a lot of my writing using Dragon for Mac. The most recent update really impacted the way it interacts with Mellel. So I was trying to dictate my text into TextEdit and then paste it into Mellel. However, I could not get Bookends to execute a command Y with TextEdit, either using the keyboard or the menu. I found this surprising and so I tried it multiple times and it would not work. Can anybody give me any insight on this? Is this something that is happening to other people, or is it just a fluke with me that perhaps a reboot would fix?

It works with TextEdit (if you set TextEdit as your word processor in Preferences). But TextEdit doesn't have a "paste" AppleEvent. So you have to do the Command-V yourself after Bookends switches to TextEdit.
