Secure Input blocks function of TypeIt4Me

Post by jhbarker »

When using the Bookends browser, I frequently have to log in to my University's proxy function. That works fine, but then I get a message from TypeIt4Me (a text expander that I find useful) that "Bookends has enabled Secure Input. This prevents TypeIt4Me from expanding abbreviations"

I understand and appreciate this function. However, would it be possible for Bookends to dis-able secure input after it is invoked, so as to allow the text expander functionality again?

thanks

Actually, we haven't done anything of the sort. In fact, I don't think we control that (we tap into WebKit, it's a black box).

This web page poses the same question and several answers are provided. Maybe one will do the trick for you.

Thanks.
Interesting. When I log in to the proxy server in Safari, Secure Input is not invoked.
So, it seems, the solution for me is to use Safari along with Bookends, rather than the Bookends browser....
