Moving from Bibdesk

Post by ghoetker »

Using the demo of Bookends and loving it! My challenge is that I currently have about 7000 citations in BibDesk, with about 4000 linked PDFs. From the User Manual and the posts I've found here, it isn't clear to me how hard this will be. Once I've made the move, I don't care about keeping things in sync, so it's a one time task. All of the PDFs are regularly named with names matching their cite key in BibDesk.

Given all that, how involved a process would it be to make the switch? Any hints on how to best do it?

Many thanks!

Please try exporting from BibDesk as EndNote XML. The first 50 will be imported into Bookends. Then move the PDFs (or a COPY of the PDFs) into the default Bookends attachment folder. Bookends should find them (for the 50 you exported).
