Hi Everyone,
I have a couple of special use questions that I haven't been able to find answers for. I am currently using Mellel and Bookends together.
I am aware of the keyboard shortcuts to specify certain in-text citation cases (e.g. ^ for Author in front of the year in parentheses). Is there an option to simply have the author's name as the in-text citation (no year)? Such a use would be used for subsequent references to the same author in the same paragraph (APA says you don't need to include the year every time).
And my second question...same general idea, except I'm looking for just the page number in parentheses, no author, no year.
Thanks so much!
Best,
Alex
In-Text: Author Alone; Page Number Alone
Re: In-Text: Author Alone; Page Number Alone
No, those aren't options. But there's no reason you need to insert them as Bookends citations, the references will already be included in the bibliography (if you are generating one). You can enter them in the body of the text yourself as author- or pages-only.
