Replicating book chapter excludes volume

Post by Nhaps »

When I replicate a book chapter, the book name is replicated correctly under the vol field, but the volume number is not. In my case I use field u4 for the volume number. Would it be possible to replicate the volume number as well? Thanks.

Bookends won't replicate an arbitrary field -- it doesn't know what you use user4 for.

That's understandable. The question is whether it would be useful for users to add custom fields for replication. More particularly, the very field of Vol has been taken by the book title, so it follows that volume number has to be transferred somewhere that is preferably replicated as well.

This is a convenience function, I can't see adding a large overhead for mapping fields to be replicated (and per Type since more than one Type, not just Books, can be replicated as chapters). It's simply not that hard to type it in yourself.
