opening online search window elicits error message

Post by opsimathphd »

I just installed 13.1.3. It seemed to be working okay yesterday and earlier today, but just now when I tried an online search, first I got "Bad Request," even though it was very similar to a search which had worked perfectly this morning. I tried more than one website, I closed and reopened Bookends, I even restarted my Mac, but it just kept happening. I sent the info via the app once, but here it is again (if it would be more appropriate for me to write to support, let me know, but I thought it might be a known bug.
Thanks.

It's not a bug. It looks like the import filter you're using is damaged. If it's one of ours, write to support@sonnysoftware.com and I'll send you a new one. Or go to our ftp site and log in as Guest

ftp://ftp.sonnysoftware.com/pub/ImportFilters/

Except I am getting this with every filter I've tried. I did in fact download the filters from the FTP site recently; could I have installed them wrong??

In that case it seems something on your system is interfering with Bookends accessing the filter. Are you using anti-virus software?

Try rebooting your Mac in Safe mode (Shift key held down). If you still have a problem after that please contact tech support (support@sonnysoftware.com).
