Keeping a URL together on one line

Post by joseph_anton »

I have a couple of longer URLs in my bibliography that get split at the end of the line. Unfortunately, this means that the URL no longer functions properly as a hyperlink. I wonder if there is any way to specify that the URL field should not be broken up? Thanks.

Bookends doesn't split URLs, it outputs them as entered.

Thanks. It's happening on the Mellel side then.

Make sure there's not a spurious Return character in the URL. Also, just look at the formatted reference in Bookends (lower pane). This way you'll ensure that it's some issue with Mellel (or not).

Yes, I checked the URLs just to make sure. They're just getting broken automatically when they fall between the end of one line and the beginning of the next.

In Bookends or Mellel? In Bookends they don't get broken at all -- it's just word wrapping.

I think you better send me your database and tell me what reference I should look at.
