problem with watch folder

Post by larilela »

I have set up a watch folder following the instructions from the user guide, and I unchecked the box "don't rename files". However, Bookends does not manage to generate a reference from the DOI and hence attaches the PDF to a new reference entry with the title "Attached file 'original name of PDF' ". This is very weird since with a simple drag and drop of the SAME FILE Bookends does detect the reference data, creates a new reference entry and attaches the PDF to this entry, all while moving and renaming the PDF according to my renaming format. I am confused. Why is this not working and what can I do to make it work?
