Text formatted as white

Post by kseggleton »

I am getting some strange behaviour in Bookends at the moment in which some text fields will be formatted as white, after I have entered the text. This makes the text appear to disappear and alters the formatted appearance of the citation in Bookend. The attachments show a field with text in it but invisible and the same text when it has been highlighted showing that it is white

Do a Global Change -> Restore Default Font and Style. See if that fixes this.

Doing a Global Change made no difference. Still references with some text in white

Did you apply it to all references, or just the selected one? If the former, send me your library.

I've seen this recently as well in my user1 field, but restarting Bookends seemed to fix it so I didn't pursue reporting it as a possible bug...

I have applied the global change to all references in the library and that seems to have cleared up the issue for those references that had white text. The problem did seem to occur when adding new references so I will wait and see if the problem re-occurs.

I am still getting this problem. It seems to occur when the BibTeX preferences for 'indicate required fields by:' is switched to color. When this preference is switched off I have not been able to reproduce the behaviour. The bug also appears to not color the required BibTeX fields in affected references. Not all references are affected - so far appears to be rather random.

I think I've fixed this in a silent update. Please download 13.2.3 again.
