A suggestion to users for making keywords more effective

Post by alanterra »

Hi

All you smart people have probably already twigged this, but if not:

If you make your keywords start with a general concept and then move to specific, it becomes easy to use the keyword Terms List panel to do searches.

For instance, your keywords can be

Cats
Cats, feral
Cats, feral, effects on native fauna

Then if you search on "Cats" all three keywords will be selected, but if you search on "Cats, feral" then only the last two will be selected. This is because the "Find In Library…" command sets up a smart search with "text, words begin with, <keyword>, Keywords".

While we are on the subject, wouldn't it be nice if "exact match" were one of the kinds of search available in smart searches?

You can create any kind of search you like with SQL smart groups.
