Can the Watch folder and Attachments folder be the same?

Post by ryanjamurphy »

The subject line says it all. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I couldn’t find anything on it by search!

For convenience purposes, I’d like to make the Watch Folder the Bookends attachments folder—that way everything’s in the same place. My intuition says that this could be a bad idea, but I can’t figure out what problems it might cause for real.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Very, very bad idea. The Watch folder contents are *moved* to the default attachment folder. Frankly, i don't know what would happen if they were the same thing. They are functionally very different folders.

Either user the watch folder to add PDFs, or drop them on the library window and let Bookends attach and file them for you.
