Unscanning in Word for Mac

Post by jamiehatzis »

Question: I scanned a Word doc (APA format) and all is fine. What does unscanning do?? I thought it would do what the name implies ie unscans the document by re-placing in the temp citations. I have hit the un-scan function several times, and absolutely nothing happens. I even saved the document as an RTF document first and still nothing happens. Dud I guess..unless it does something else I am unaware of??

Yes, it removes the final citations and bibliography and restores the unscanned form. For this to work you must have Retain Hidden Citations ON when doing the original scan. You can check that in Word by selecting a citation -- if its is highlighted in dark gray there is hidden citation data that can be unscanned.

Thanks. I see the gray now in a subsequent draft. Thanks for the help.
