I'm sure the answer to this question exists somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. I'd like to be able to make a new library containing only the items in a specific group; is there a way to do that in one fell swoop? Alternatively, can I do it by creating a new empty library and using drag and drop?

Yes a new library and drag and drop is easiest.

Alternatively, make all the members of the group hits, export as a Bookends file, then import that file to a new library.
